Matthew A. Miller

Matthew Miller was born and raised in a small farm town in Eastern Washington. In 1995, he graduated from the University of Washington with a B.A. in English Literature, and in 1998, he obtained his J.D. from the University of Washington School of Law. He is admitted to practice in the state of Washington, as well as the United States District Court for the Western District of Washington and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

After graduating from law school and for nearly eight years, Matt served as a Judge Advocate in the United States Army. His first tour of duty was with the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, and Vitina, Kosovo. He also served as Chief, Claims Division for United States Army Alaska, defending the U.S. Army from all tort claims filed in the state of Alaska. In Matt's final assignment before leaving the military, he served as a medical claims attorney and legal advisor to Madigan Army Medical Center which is just south of Tacoma, Washington, defending the Army from medical malpractice claims filed against the hospital. Matt's practice focuses on civil litigation, including medical malpractice defense, personal injury defense, employment litigation, and premises liability, as well as school law, health law, and the defense of licensed professionals against disciplinary complaints or inquiries.

When not in the office, Matt enjoys hiking with his Siberian Husky and his Black Lab, fostering dogs from the Seattle Animal Shelter, cooking, playing ultimate frisbee, and kayaking.
